Over the past couple of decades, Alberta has become home to many Low German Mennonite (LGM) families. Regardless of your field or role in education, it is likely that you will work with an LGM family in some capacity. Drawing on their own lived experiences and more than twenty years of combined work as Community Health Representatives (Alberta Health Services) and Liaisons (Palliser and Horizon School Divisions), Tina Meggison, Dan Doerksen, and Helena Goertzen will share key insights into the cultural beliefs and way of life of the LGM community.

This presentation is designed to help school staff gain a deeper understanding of who the LGM are; their history, values, and convictions, in order to strengthen support for students and families within the school community.
