The Literacy Studio: Redesigning the Workshop for Readers and Writers by Ellin Oliver Keene invites educators to reimagine reading and writing workshop structures into a unified, flexible, and authentic literacy studio. Instead of separating reading and writing, Keene shows how to blend them seamlessly—helping students see themselves as meaning-makers, thinkers, and creators.
This book club will give grade 1–6 teachers the opportunity to explore Keene’s vision of the Literacy Studio, reflect on classroom practice, and discuss practical ways to redesign literacy time. Through collaborative conversations, participants will:
 - Deepen their understanding of integrated literacy instruction.
 - Explore strategies that foster independence, choice, and student engagement.
 - Consider how to create a classroom culture where reading and writing live side by side.
 - Share ideas, challenges, and successes with colleagues.

Participants will need to purchase a copy of the book through Amazon or Heinemann
