Join ACE (Alberta Colony Educators) and The Consortium for a dynamic professional learning series explicitly designed to support educators working in Hutterite colony schools. This year-long series offers practical, hands-on sessions that address the unique needs of colony classrooms while building teacher capacity in inclusive, innovative, and responsive teaching practices.

Running monthly on Wednesday evenings from 6:30–8:00 p.m., the sessions will explore high-impact topics including:

  • Irlen Syndrome and strategies for visual processing support
  • Using AI tools to enhance teacher planning
  • Classroom practices to support Outcomes-Based Assessment
  • Implementing the Picture Word Inductive Model (PWIM) for language development
  • Addressing and supporting student behaviours in multigrade settings
  • Routines and procedures to strengthen ELA instruction
  • Promoting mental health and well-being for students and educators alike

This is a space for collaboration, curiosity, and community – designed to support both new and experienced teachers and educational assistants in Hutterite colony settings. Each session is grounded in research-informed practices and shaped by the real experiences of Alberta educators.
